About Supported Living Services (Kent) LtdMission Statement We will never knowingly refuse anyone the right to move forward to independent living in a fully supported environment. Our aims and objectives Our key aim is to provide accommodation for 16+ young people moving from residential or foster care and young adults with learning disabilities. To develop their transition through our outreach team to full independent living.
To achieve our aims we have set a number of objectives including: Accommodation Providing good quality furnished accommodation which offers reasonable levels of comfort, homeliness and privacy. Also offering flats out in the community. These would be through private landlords the client would complete the minimum short term tenancy timescale of 6 months, with a view to the client recieving a reference from us and where appropriate signing the tenancy over to them with the initial deposit for their disposal. Support Move and Resettlement Training/Employment Location All units are located near the town centre and public transport is easily accessible. Socialising All clients are encouraged to access local facilities, sports programmes, and groups relevant to the client. Young adults with learning disabilities are able to attend a number of discos in Kent which are specifically for those with learning disabilities. Referrals Referrals are made to Supported Living Services through Social Services departments. All service users must have a pathway plan and risk assessments prior to placement being offered. We will also accept a referral if you have access to private funding.
